Friends of the school
Who are we?
We are a thriving ‘friends’ association warmly welcoming all parents on board with the strong support of our community and local industry, as well as past pupils.
We are incredibly proud of our school and feel it does a wonderful job with the resources available but sadly, as much as we wish, they are not endless! Our role as Friends is to work together to organise events and raise funds to enrich the children’s educational and social opportunities.
Friends of Cracoe and Rylstone is a registered charity. The group currently has an elected chair, Alistair, and a team of parents who work alongside the school; we organise and run fundraising events for the school community.
What is our aim?
Our aim is to use the funds raised to enhance the experiences of every child in the school, from improving sporting facilities to extending the range and access pupils have to excellent reading material.
Where does the money raised go?
In recent years we have raised funds towards:
- Phonics books
- Gardening equipment for the children and plants
- Subsidies trips such as the annual pantomime
Friends of Cracoe and Rylstone School also provide gifts for our Y6 leavers, refreshments at sports day, refreshments after school performances, Christmas crackers for the Christmas lunches and a ‘gift from Santa’.
What type of events/activities do we do?
In the past couple of years we have organised the following events:
- coffee mornings
- sponsored walk
